Lead Conversion Implications

Understand the implications of using Scheduler with Zoho CRM's lead conversion.

Lead Conversion Implications

When you use a workflow that is configured to book appointments from a Lead and create a Deal, it is important to understand the implications of Zoho CRM's native lead conversion process.

Automatic Field Mapping

As detailed in the "Configuration Guide", when a Lead is converted to a Deal in Zoho CRM, standard fields such as name, company, and contact details are automatically mapped and carried over. Scheduler respects this process, which means you do not need to manually map these fields in your workflow settings.

Booking Form Optimisation

The key implication of this is that you can significantly simplify your booking form. Instead of including all the standard contact and company fields, you can focus the form on only the information that is specific to the Deal and is not present on the Lead record.

This is particularly important for any fields that are mandatory on your Deals module. By ensuring that these Deal-mandatory fields are included on your booking form, you can make sure that your CRM data remains complete and valid, without asking your telephone agents to re-enter information that will be automatically populated.
