Introduction to scheduler

Source vs. Destination Modules

Learn the difference between Source and Destination modules in Scheduler.

In Scheduler, the concepts of Source and Destination modules are fundamental to how data flows during the booking process.

  • Source Module: This is the Zoho CRM module where the booking process begins. It provides the initial context for the new appointment, including essential information like the customer's postcode, which is used to calculate travel times and find suitable appointment slots. Common source modules include Leads, Contacts, and Accounts.

  • Destination Module: This is the Zoho CRM module where the details of the newly booked appointment are stored. Typically, this will be the Deals module, but it can be configured to be any suitable module in your CRM. In addition to creating or updating a record in the destination module, Scheduler can also be configured to automatically create a related Meeting (Event) record.

By separating the source and destination, Scheduler allows for flexible workflows that can be adapted to your specific sales or service processes. For example, you can initiate a booking from a Lead and have the details automatically recorded in a new Deal, streamlining the transition from a prospective customer to an active sales opportunity.
