Setting Source and Destination Modules
How to configure the source and destination modules for a workflow.
A fundamental part of configuring a workflow is defining the Source and Destination modules. These settings determine where the booking process starts and where the resulting data is stored in your Zoho CRM.
Source Module
The Source Module is the Zoho CRM module from which your telephone agents will initiate the booking process. This is typically a module that contains the initial information about a customer or prospect, such as Leads, Contacts, or Accounts.
When an agent launches Scheduler from a record in the source module, the application will automatically pull in key information from that record, such as the customer's name, email address, and, most importantly, their postcode. This postcode is then used to find suitable appointment slots based on your travel time rules.
Destination Module
The Destination Module is the Zoho CRM module where the details of the new booking will be recorded. For most businesses, this will be the Deals module, as a new booking often represents a new sales opportunity.
When a booking is made, Scheduler will create a new record (or update an existing one) in the destination module and populate it with the information from the booking form.
The Meetings module should not be used as the destination module. Instead, Scheduler provides a separate option to automatically create a Meeting (Event) record that is linked to the record in the destination module. This approach simplifies the data flow and ensures that your CRM data remains well-structured.
